School Science Projects

I am a college student, and as a group of Three, we have to go over to a Middle school and do a (short, 15-20 minute project) with students.Please give as many science projects as possible, so its short but good. (The topic is either Chemistry or Biology)

I am working with a group of summer kids this summer and I am searching for ideas for a “science theme”. Any cool ideas. My kids are kindergarden- fourth grade.

I am teaching a small class of 11 year olds in rural Ecuador and I have never taught before. The kids don´t get to do many creative exercises or art projects, they mostly work in textbooks. I would like to incorporate some creative exercises for teaching math, science, and social studies. Also, I would like to do more art projects with the kids. Unfortunately, I can´t think of anything. Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated!

If it’s to get kids more interested in science, I can say from personal experience, it doesn’t work. Myself and all my classmates from 1st grade up until 12th dreaded the science fair. I especially hated how much time and effort I put into coming up with an idea, doing the experiment, putting together the board, etc, only to get a “Honorable Mention” (which they give everyone who participates) every year.

I am now a second grade teacher and I still dread having to put together a science fair project for the whole class.
